How to use your Stitch Frame embroidery hoop

Stitch Frame is a new and ready-to hang embroidery hoop that uses a patented tubing and channel system to tightly stretch fabric. It works for embroidery, cross stitch, punch needle, and more!

And the best part? Thanks to the way it works, embroidery hoops are no longer limited to circles (although we've got some pretty cute circle frames, too!). Here's how it works.

How to use your Stitch Frame embroidery hoop

First, place your frame face down on a flat surface and remove the frame back.

Place your piece of fabric right-side down on top of the back side of the frame, making sure it covers it completely.

Next, gently stretch the fabric while pressing it onto the sticky surface on the back of the frame. This adhesive is temporary (and archival!) and acts as a placeholder while you stretch the fabric.

Starting at a corner (or anywhere if your frame is a circle), push the tubing and fabric into the channel with the wooden tool. Once you have gone halfway around the frame, stretch the remaining sides of the fabric tighter by re-positioning it on the adhesive. Push the tubing and fabric into the channel until you have gone all the way around the frame.

That's it! You can work directly on the frame to finish your project, or you can follow the steps above to frame a piece of fabric that has already been stitched. If you are going to work on the frame, I recommend using the included frame cover to protect it while you work.

When you have finished your project, simply put the frame back on, trim the excess fabric, and hang it on the wall! Or, you can use a Stitch Frame stand attachment (coming soon!) to display your frame on a table top.
