Welcome to my wild world of textile art!
Hi, I’m Allie, a textile artist from San Diego who loves all things colorful and fun.
My art journey started in 2017, after I woke up in the middle of the night with an idea and decided it was (finally!) time to pursue my creative passions. At the time, I was busy caring for two children under the age of two , but pushed myself to craft and create art late into the night.
Today, I create playful pieces that are inspired by my love of bright colors and wild textures. I use latchhook, punchneedle, and embroidery to create these works of art. I use natural fibers and fabrics as much as possible because #plasticpollutes.
I’m inspired by all things vintage, and especially chenille bedspreads from the 1950s. I love the playfulness of children’s decor, and I am thrilled that my work has often ended up in nurseries and kids rooms.
In 2018, Lindsay Gruetzmacher and I co-founded Punch Needle Gang, a community of punchneedle artists sharing tips and inspiration. So excited about this!
After 30+ years of telling myself I wasn’t an artist, I am so thankful that there are many kind people who have encouraged me and purchased my art for their homes.
As a new artist, my style is evolving quickly and I continue to learn more each day. Practicing art has changed my life, and I love to share my story and encourage other women to follow their dreams!
